{Consideration provided by LEGOLAND California}
One of our family’s running jokes is the fact that when we consider swimming equal, if not superior to bathing. Perhaps that is because most days during Southern California’s scorching summer, you’ll find us at the pool, the beach or our local water park. Who needs baths when you’re in the water all. day. long.
The irony of living in Southern California, where we can go to the beach in the middle of winter and our summer temperatures can easily reach 100 degrees, is the fact that there are very few water parks in the area. LEGOLAND and CHIMA Water Park recently opened for the summer, and admittedly this is our favorite place to cool off. The water park, which is housed inside LEGOLAND California is the first LEGOLAND Water Park and features a lazy river where families can build a LEGO raft, DUPLO splash and play area for younger kids, water slides, a CHIMA-inspired wave pool and more.
This summer, LEGOLAND is expanding their water park with Surfers’ Cove. This California beach-themed area will feature six new water slides extending 100-feet where families can race against each other on mats for the fastest time. After competing on Riptide Racers water slides, pose with a LEGO trophy for a photo opp to prove you won (The surfing dog, housed on top of a wave at the peak of Riptide Racers will “judge”). Also new to the area is Wipeout Lagoon, a “spray ground” where multiple water jets splash on and off to create a wave effect.
LEGOLAND Water Park’s expansion also includes a brand new eatery called Beach Street Tacos, which will serve up taqueria-style tacos and 3 varieties of craft draft beers.

- Build-a-Raft River: In this river, you must put your building skills to the test to design a LEGO raft that you can float downstream.
- Orange Rush: Gather 4 of your closest friends and family members to rush past the Water Park Tower on a giant orange half pike.

Rides/Attractions for the Thrill Seeker
Ideal for teens and tweens, these water slides are designed for single riders 36″-42″ and taller.
