As soon as we ordered my kids’ Halloween costumes, their first question to me was “when are we going to Mickey’s Halloween Party?” This not-too-spooky, kid-centric Halloween event is a favorite of ours and one that really serves to ring in the magic of this season. For 14 spooktacular nights, guests can trick or treat at the happiest place on earth in a special after-hours party that includes everything from dancing in the street to a Halloween scream-a-long!
What’s special about Mickey’s Halloween Party is that your family can enjoy a different side of the park not experienced during Halloween Time (or really any other time of the year). Our absolute favorite thing to do is to watch the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular while singing screaming along with Jack Skellington to the most popular haunted tunes and you can only do this during the party! So what else does Mickey Mouse have in store for his special Halloween Party? Here are some of the highlights of this popular, Halloween event!
Costume Central! Did you know that Mickey’s Halloween Party is the only time the entire family can visit the resort in costume? Because this is so special, the resort sets up spooktacular photo spots throughout the park where families can capture memories from the evening with their favorite Disney and Pixar Characters and Disney Villains.
And if you’re looking to see your favorite characters all dressed up for the season, be sure to catch Mickey’s Costume Party cavalcade parading down Main Street (twice each night).
Trick-or-Treat! Trick-or-treating throughout the park is one of the most spectacular events of the evening, and as a parent I appreciate the expansive selection of candy and healthier treat options like apples and crackers. There are always more treat stations than we can visit and the lines move very quickly making it the ideal place for young kids to trick or treat.
Get Your Dance On! Since it had been 2 years since our last visit to Mickey’s Halloween Party, we were able to join Mike & Sulley at Tomorrowland Terrace for a Monsters U Dance Party for the very first time. This is a great spot to sit for a few moments while the kids get their dance on. The music is upbeat and fun without being overwhelmingly loud.
Villain Sightings! At some point throughout the evening, be sure to head over to Town Square on Main Street. U.S.A. for a villainous transformation and a photo to remember the night…if you dare!
Ghastly Entertainment! Once again, the Cadaver Dans ghoul quartet returns to the Rivers of America to perform they favorite haunted tunes.
Terror-ific Rides! Each year, the Disneyland Resort transforms Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain! You can experience Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy during Mickey’s Halloween Party and throughout Halloween Time at Disneyland Park.
Tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party can be purchased online, at the Resort or via phone by calling 714.781.4400. Remember to purchase your tickets early as Mickey’s Halloween Party always sells out, particularly as we get closer to Halloween. Ticket prices begin at $63 (when purchased in advance online) and if you’re an annual passholder you’ll receive a discount and a special treat when you stop by the Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A. during any night of the party. Tickets include parking for one standard-sized vehicle.
Best Tips For Enjoying Mickey’s Halloween Party:
