The subtleties in temperature and daylight remind me that our days of sleeping in, sneaking off to Disneyland, and swimming until 10 pm are drawing to a close. The back-to-school season has snuck up on us, and in just a few weeks, the neatly stocked shelves filled with backpacks and notebooks will be empty. This window for shopping is always short, most likely due to the partial denial that comes with transitioning from summer to the new school year.
Back-to-School Shopping with Giving Assistant
We’ve begun the back-to-school countdown, and as such, I’ve started shopping for my kids’ clothes, shoes, and school supplies. I always prefer to shop online when possible to avoid the long lines and frustration when items are out-of-stock. Who doesn’t like shopping at 10 pm in pajamas while earning cash back on purchases? That’s exactly what I’ve been doing thanks to Giving Assistant.
What is Giving Assistant?
This summer, I started using Giving Assistant to shop for back-to-school. This cash-back website makes it easy for you to earn money on purchases from your favorite stores. Setting up an account is quick, easy, and free, and you can begin earning cash back with your very first purchase.
How Do I Sign Up For a Giving Assistant Account?
After securing a free account, I began browsing the stores that have partnered with Giving Assistant and found several of my favorites including Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Disney Store, White House Black Market, Nordstrom and so many more! The percentage of cash back on purchases varies and averages around 6%. But sites like Verizon Wireless offer up to 15% cash back.

How Can I Earn Cash Back From My Purchases?
Once you’ve confirmed your account information, you can begin shopping by first conducting a brief search for your favorite stores. Completely disable AdBlocker or any privacy extensions on all websites and be sure you begin your shopping experience with an empty shopping cart. Simply complete your purchase in the same browsing session within 24 hours to earn cash back. You’ll typically see the pending cash back amount within 24 hours of your purchase. You can then opt to have the cash back sent via PayPal or check.
Save More With Giving Assistant’s Online Coupons
Every single time I shop online, I scour the web in search of online coupons and promo codes. I appreciate the time-saving aspect of having all available coupon codes on Giving Assistant’s website. Once you’ve navigated to the store you want to shop at, you’ll see a list of available coupons to use prior to visiting the retailer’s site to shop.
Give Back With Your Purchases
One of the unique aspects of Giving Assistant is the ability to give back a portion (or all) of the cash back you receive from your purchases. If you forget to donate like I do, this is an ideal solution to help you support the charities you’re passionate about. I chose Samaritan’s Purse as my charity but you can select from hundreds available via the site.
Earn More With Referrals + Earn $5 Now!
In addition to the cash back you can earn from your purchases, you will receive a personalized referral link for your friends. Every friend you refer receives $5 in cash for signing up. When they make a purchase and earn cash back, you’ll also receive $5 and their is no limit to what you can earn through referrals.
I recently completed my first back-to-school purchase at Stride Rite, which offers up to 7% cash back. The shoes were on sale at $9.95 and the amount of cash back I will receive from my purchase is $0.69. It may not seem like a lot of money at first, but if you shop online regularly, there is the potential to earn enough to save for something special (i.e. an evening out, a new purse, a mini vacation).
