All About Baby: Amon Maternity

I have to admit that when I look at pictures from my pre-pregnancy years, I get a little nostalgic for the days when I didn’t have to worry about bodyshapers. People used to tell me that having a baby changes a woman’s body…but I really had no idea until after my son was born that I may never have a flat tummy again.

It’s been 3 weeks since our baby girl was born.  I’m actually quite surprised at how much my stomach has gone down (although I definitely still look pregnant).  I started wearing a support band in the hospital, and now feel well enough to wear a body shaper.  Thanks to Amon Maternity, I’m wearing their for • give bodyshaper.

My stomach muscles are very weak due to the incision.  Last time it took several weeks for me to be able to do anything with my abdominal muscles.  A bodyshaper really helps provide support to move around easier.  This bodyshaper is different than most that I have tried in that it very much resembles underwear (as opposed to a band that goes around your waist).  I actually like this design because that means it stays put.  The bodyshaper is made from 90% nylon and 10% spandex which provides firm (but comfortable) support.

Because I’ve worn bodyshapers in the past, some of the things I look for include comfort, support, and breathability.  I think this bodyshaper by Amon Maternity does a nice job with all three.  I followed the guidelines for sizing and while I definitely feel like it’s snug going on, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable.  And once I’ve had it on for a bit I really don’t even notice it’s there.  An added bonus is that the fabric is seemless which means nobody has to know that you’re not back to your pre pregnancy size yet wearing a bodyshaper!

When I was pregnant with my son, I had an opportunity to review the company’s maternity band.  Amon Maternity offers supportive, comfortable products for before and after pregnancy.  The for • give bodyshaper retails for $25.00 and is available in black, white, and nude.

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, January 12th through Friday January 15th), the site is having a sale where you can receive 50% off by entering the code SUPERSALE.

I did not receive compensation for this post.  I did receive a product, courtesy of the company, in order to faciliate my review.

    I wish that I didn’t have a need for a body shaper, but unfortunately, I do 🙁
