You know the story…A girl named Alice chases a rabbit into a hole during a dream and finds herself amongst a disappearing cat, an army of cards, and an elusive white rabbit in Wonderland. Fast forward several years to an Alice who’s all grown up, about to get engaged to a man she’s lukewarm about. She’s trapped in a pretentious society of do’s and don’ts, attempting to find her identity.
Tim Burton’s take on Alice in Wonderland is fascinating, imaginative, and even dark at times. The movie isn’t a sequel…or a re-make. It’s so much more than that. The characters are intricate and well-developed. The cinematography is stunning. The story evokes nostalgia and remnants of Lewis Carroll’s original work are evident throughout. Here is a brief summary from the site:
From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure ALICE IN WONDERLAND, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time.
