So…I’ve heard of Secretary’s Day…and Grandparent’s Day…and even Tell a Joke Day. But this is the first that I’ve learned that there is an entire day dedicated to pirate speak. Today is the day when all of us should speak like pirates…Arrr! You can read all about the history of the day here and here.
The Disney Parks Blog was taken over by pirates today in honor of the special day of celebration. And, Disney Junior, which recently launched their new site, has been airing multiple episodes (including their brand new episode entitled “Captain Hook’s Parrot/Skybird Island is Falling”) all day long. The website offers children the opportunity to create their very own animated video of Jake, Izzy, or Cubby saying one of their catch phrases. These videos can then be shared with others in the gallery or printed off and kept.
The new episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates debuted today and follows Captain Hook as he tries to capture Skully and attempt to chop down Skybird Island’s Golden Tree. You can watch Jake and the Never Land Pirates on Disney Junior.
