We’re nearing the end of January, and I’m already reviewing my progress towards my health and fitness goals. While I feel like I’ve stayed relatively committed to a healthy diet, I have not been exercising as regularly as I would like. My preferred method of maintaining a consistent level of fitness is to simply run…around our neighborhood…on the treadmill. I like the fact that I can run without really thinking too much about coordination and can use that time to reflect.
Because running requires the use of the entire body, comfortable, breathable activewear and supportive shoes are a must. To inspire me towards a more consistent running routine, I headed over to Walmart to pick up some activewear. I was excited to learn that they carry items from Danskin, one of the leading women’s activewear brands in the country.
While at my local store, I managed to pick up a pair of Capri pants for just under $12, a tee for just under $6, and a jacket for just under $14. The quality is impressive, considering the price, and I love the modern styles and vibrant colors. The fabrics are comfortable and breathable.
Very often, I find that brands who manufacture activewear don’t take into consideration petite sized women so I find myself drawn towards Capri pants so I don’t have to worry about tripping (or altering them). Danskin Now Women’s Dri-More Capri Pants feature a cotton/spandex blend with an elastic waistband for a comfortable fit. The moisture wicking technology that is weaved into these pants also helps to keep runners cool and dry. And I absolutely love how flattering they are.
I paired the Capri Pants with a vibrant blue Danskin Now Women’s Poly Tee, which is made from a stretchy polyester material. Like the pants, the tee features moisture wicking technology. In-stores, these tees are available in both a loose and more snug fit and available in several colors.
In the winter, I like to begin my workouts with a lightweight jacket, particularly if I’m running outdoors. My new favorite piece of activewear is this Danskin Now Women’s Performance Zip Jacket. It is comprised of a polyester spandex blend so it offers warmth and breathability. It’s flattering enough to wear outside of my running times and a lightweight option for breezy days.
For around $30, I was able to score an entire workout outfit made from quality, durable fabrics. Each piece is designed to offer maximum comfort and can be mixed and matched with other pieces in the line to create several outfits. I was probably the most surprised about how fashion-forward the styles are, considering the price.
