As a child who grew up in the 80’s, I couldn’t help but feel a bit of nostalgia as I spoke with the filmmakers behind the new found footage film Earth to Echo. Inspired by films like E.T., The Explorers, and Stand By Me, Earth to Echo follows the story of Tuck, Munch, and Alex, a trio of inseparable friends who’s neighborhood is set to be torn apart by a highway construction project. Knowing that very soon, they’ll each be forced away from their homes to start a new life apart, they set out on one last adventure.
Two days before they are supposed to move away, Tuck, Munch, and Alex find a cryptic signal that has infected their phones. Convinced that this is something bigger than a glitch, they set out to trace the messages to a source and discover a mysterious being stranded on Earth and wanted by the government. Filled with danger, wonder, and a sprinkling of raw emotion, the three friends embark on a journey that will cement their friendship and change their lives forever.
In honor of the film’s July 2nd release, I’m excited to partner with Relativity Media to offer 10 readers 4-packs of tickets to screen the film on July 1st, 2014. Here are the details for the pre-release screening of Earth to Echo:
