With the Fourth of July falling in the middle of the week, we are celebrating close to home this year. Grilling, lounging by the pool and a beach side picnic to a grand display of fireworks sounds perfect! Since it will be a smallish celebration, I thought I’d do something special for the kids.
We live relatively close to the beach, so I thought it would be neat to fill up beach buckets with snacks and goodies for our informal celebration. And at the very least, the kids can use the buckets to play in the sand for the rest of the summer.
I picked up some healthy snacks, light sticks and glow bracelets, festive tees and flip flops, and of course, dark chocolate all at Walmart! For just under $30 (plus tax) I created Fourth of July buckets for both of my kids. Here is what I put inside each bucket:

All we need are some drinks and a blanket and we’re all set to celebrate on the beach!
