Best Hotels Near Disneyland With a Water Park – Cambria Hotel & Suites

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

Even as locals, we are always looking for the best hotels near Disneyland. Despite our relative proximity to the park, a hotel near Disneyland makes it convenient to stay late for all of the resort’s nighttime entertainment without worrying about driving home late at night. CHOC Walk celebrated its 30th anniversary this year with a celebration at the Disneyland Resort and the Cambria Hotel & Suites was our home for the night. Located less than 1 mile from Disneyland, Cambria Hotel & Suites is the perfect family-friendly hotel for your Disneyland vacation.

Cambria Hotel King Suite

Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim

The best family-friendly hotels offer a combination of luxury and convenience amenities for adults and kids. When we travel to Disneyland, we prefer a hotel that is close and ideally offers secure parking. My daughter and I loved being less than 1 mile from Disneyland. At the end of our long, adventure-filled day, we were so grateful to have a cozy bed in a spacious family suite to rest.

Cambria Hotel Bedroom

Rooms and Suites

When you stay at Cambria Hotel & Suites, you can choose from a 2-queen guest room or a spacious family suite. I was immediately impressed by the size and attention to detail when I walked into our family suite. The hotel offers 3 suites to choose from 1 bedroom (2 queen beds), 1 bedroom (king bed), and a 2 bedroom family suite which can sleep up to 11 people.

Cambria Hotel Bunk Beds

Each of the bunk beds features a pull-out trundle bed which allows families more room and additional sleeping options for children. The suites can comfortably sleep up to 7 people (11 for the 2-bedroom suite).

Cambria Hotel Living Room

Each suite offers a separate bedroom and living area, plush linens, a master bathroom with luxury amenities, a kitchenette, a workspace, and extra sleeping arrangements. Stand-out features include bathrooms with both a private shower and a tub/shower combination, the latest Bluetooth technology so that you can stream your favorite tunes while getting ready for the day, and water park access (some rooms do not include access). The suite is the ideal choice for families traveling to Disneyland since you’ll have the ability to store and warm food using the kitchenette’s refrigerator and microwave. *Tip* Book a park-facing room and you’ll be treated to a wonderful view of the park’s nighttime fireworks show.

Cambria Hotel Water Park

Pool and Water Park

One of the most compelling reasons to stay at Cambria Hotel & Suites is it’s 30,000-square foot water park. California enjoys pristine weather throughout the year, so you’ll want to enjoy the pool, water slides, and hot tub during your stay which are open year-round.

Cambria Hotel Splash Pad

The water park features two water slides, pop-up jets, and a splash pad. You can also enjoy their spacious main pool or second pool with a shallow entry which is the perfect spot to watch your favorite Disney movie when the sun sets. You can also opt to relax and warm up in their onsite oversized spa. It should be noted that water park access is only available to guests who have booked one of the suites. *Tip* Book with Getaway Today and you’ll receive free water park passes.

Cambria Hotel Pool

Family Friendly On-Site Activities

Cambria Hotel & Suites knows its audience, and every facet of the hotel is designed to engage families with children. Stop by the lobby gift shop to stock up on snacks and Disney souvenirs like the latest Loungefly backpack. Shoot hoops at their basketball court or refine your golfing skills on the putting green. Basketballs, golf clubs, and golf balls are available for use.

Outdoor Movie Wall

After a magical day at the parks, relax poolside (or in the water) to see your favorite Disney film on the outdoor movie wall. You can check the lobby for current movies and times when you check-in. Snacks are available for purchase.

Mickey Waffles at Cambria Hotel

Free Breakfast With Mickey Waffles

Families with children understand the value of staying at a hotel that offers complimentary breakfast. Breakfast for a family of four can be pricey and hungry kids can start the day in the wrong direction. Before you head out for the day, enjoy a hot breakfast with egg and meat stations, Mickey waffles, pancakes, fresh juice, hot coffee, and more. *Tip* Breakfast starts at 6:30 am and I highly recommend eating early as the area can get crowded.

Onsite Dining at Cambria Hotel & Suites

Cambria Hotel & Suites is ideally situated near several popular restaurants including California Fish Grill, Yogurtland, Jersey Mike’s, Habit Burger, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Luna Grill, and Starbucks, all within walking distance. I found this a convenient and affordable way to fuel up for our visit to Disneyland without spending a lot of money.

If you prefer not to leave the hotel, you can enjoy small plates in the hotel lobby or by the pool from Splash Lounge.

Parking at Cambria Hotel & Suites

On-site parking is available at Cambria Hotel & Suites for $28 per night plus tax. *Tip* If you book with Getaway Today you’ll save $10 on nightly parking.

Anaheim Resort Transit Shuttle

How to Get to Disneyland From Cambria Hotel & Suites

While Disneyland is technically within walking distance of Cambria Hotel & Suites, I highly recommend taking the Anaheim Resort Transit Shuttle (ART) or driving to the parks. After a long day of walking, the 0.8 miles (15-20 minute) walk may be too much for kids, particularly if you have young children.

The ART Shuttle stops at the hotel, and the pricing is as follows:

  • One Way Tickets – $4.00/adults (ages 10+), $1.50/kids (ages 3-9)
  • One Day Pass – $6.00/adults, $2.50/kids
  • Three-Day Pass – $16.00/adults, $3.50/kids
  • Five-Day Pass – $25.00/adults, $5.50/kids

Cambria Hotel & Suites Specials

Located in the Anaheim Resort District, Cambria Hotel & Suites is ideally situated centrally. The Anaheim Convention Center, Honda Center, Angel Stadium, and Anaheim GardenWalk are just a few miles away. With modern conveniences and spacious rooms and suites, we found Cambria Hotel & Suites to be the perfect hotel near Disneyland. Visit their Specials page for discounts including AAA/CAA Member rates, Senior/AARP rates, and Government rates. If you are Disneyland Magic Keyholder, you’ll save up to 10% off the hotel’s Best Available Rate when you present your Magic Key Pass at check-in.
