Twenty years ago, former Disney animation director Richard Rich debuted The Swan Princess, an animated film based on the infamous Swan Lake ballet. The original story follows the relationship between Princess Odette and Prince Derek, who’s early childhood animosity turns into love as they grow up. Following the success of the franchise, Sony the 10th film in the series, The Swan Princess: A Royal Wedding.

The Swan Princess: A Royal Wedding

The 10th installment in The Swan Princess finds Princess Odette and Prince Derek on another magical adventure in the enchanted land of Cathay, which is inspired by Chinese culture. Princess Mei Li has called upon Princess Odette for help as she is planning to marry her true love, Chen. When Princess Odette arrives, she realizes that things have gone awry. The evil sorceress Fang has cast an evil spell, launching a plan to marry Chen herself. Fang has fallen in love with Chen and has transformed herself into a semblance of Mei Li. Mei Li is now an old woman due to the spell, and if Chen marries Fang, she will die.

With the wedding quickly approaching, Mei Li’s brother Prince Li, Princess Odette, and her royal friends must break the curse so Mei Li can marry Chen and live their happily every after.
