Tackle It Tuesday

Posted by Caryn Bailey 4 Comments

I just found out about Tackle It Tuesday, a weekly feature on 5 Minutes For Mom where bloggers come together to share tackle household projects.  I thought that since we’re about to move into a house that has been vacant for over six months, this might be a good time to join in and share/learn about how to tackle the tough stuff!

Over the weekend I tackled a project I was sure I was going to fail.  When we toured the house, we knew that it was going to take more than just a coat of paint and some cleaning.  This feat would not be for the faint.  It was going to take hardcore, heavy duty, get your hands (and feet and hair and clothing) dirty kind of scrubbing to get the place clean.  I was assigned the bathrooms.

It might be a little difficult to see but the tubs were so filthy I thought we were going to have to get them reglazed.  I started out with my green cleaning products.  While they smelled like flowers they didn’t get done what needed to be done which was hard-core cleaning.  I moved on to a bottle of CLR I got from 5 Minutes for Mom.  One scrub brush and some CLR literally transformed those tubs.  My husband was shocked that I, who absolutely detests cleaning, was able to get the tubs sparkling clean.  My next task is the grout in the kitchen!

CLR Bath & Kitchen Cleaner is effective against calcium, lime and hard water deposits, soap scum, and dirt and can be used on many surfaces including ceramic tile, bathtubs, sinks, grout, toilet bowls, countertops, and more.  While it is free from phosphates, ammonia and bleach, I did find the smell to be strong compared to the Method, Seventh Generation, and Mrs. Meyers products I’ve been using.  And while I’ll definitely continue to use my green cleaning products on a regular basis, it’s nice to have CLR around for those heavy duty stains and problem areas.

Head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom for more Tackle It Tuesday projects!

Profuse thanks to 5 Minutes for Mom and Jelmar for this review opportunity.
