One of my foodie friends recently introduced me to Farmer Boys, a local fast-casual restaurant with roots here in Southern California. I had not heard of the venue, but when my friend told me they had all-day breakfast I was sold. Restaurants are located in California and Nevada, and this week, Farmer Boys will open its 9th Orange County location in La Habra.

Farmer Boys

Farmer boys was founded by five brothers with a love for a really good burger. Raised on their family farm, they immigrated from Cyprus and opened Astro Burgers in Torrance in 1979. The Havadjias brother subsequently went on to open Theodore’s Restaurant in Hollywood and then McCoy’s Restaurant in Perris, which eventually became the first Farmer Boys restaurant in the early 80s.

Today, Farmer Boys is known for their award-winning burgers, cooked-to-order breakfasts, hand-chopped salads, and stacked sandwiches. Their experience working the farm is evident in their commitment to providing guests with a farm-to-table dining experience. The company purchases fresh ingredients directly from local farmers and purveyors when possible including their breads, fruits, and vegetables.

Best Burger

There is a lot of debate surrounding the best burger in Southern California. So the fact that Farmer Boys received this distinction by CBS is noteworthy. MyFoxLA has also named Farmer Boys as the best burger in the Inland Empire. Their deep-fried zucchini and oversized onion rings have also won awards!

What makes their burgers so GOOD? Farmer Boys uses 100% USDA beef which is ground fresh. These burgers are also free from hormones and antibiotics and never frozen.

The restaurant also serves up a pretty impressive veggie burger called The Market.

Breakfast at Farmer Boys

One of the things I really like about the restaurant is the fact that they serve breakfast all day! Their breakfast menu is diverse and expansive and includes classics like omelets, breakfast burritos, and sandwiches and sweet indulgences including pancakes and french toast.
