Snow is in the forecast this season at Discovery Cube, perfectly timed for winter in Southern California. The hands-on science museum will host its annual Winter Wonderfest, an outdoor snow play area complete with inflatable tubes, sledding, and more. This year, families in LA and Orange County can enjoy this delightful winter wonderland at both museum locations. Winter Wonderfest opens December 16th and 17th, and runs daily beginning December 22nd through January 7th, 2018.
This is part of a sponsored campaign with Discovery Cube.

5 Things To Do At Winter Wonderfest
What is winter without snow? You don’t have to head far, since Discovery Cube will have plenty of it throughout the winter season. From throwing snowballs to making snow angels, here are 5 things to do at Winter Wonderfest this season.
- Play in the Snow: As simple as it sounds, kids absolutely love snow play. Build a snowman, make a snowball, and more in their snow play area.
- Race Down the Ramp in a Snow Tube: Kids can glide down the 75 foot ramp in a snow tube while experiencing physics in action.
- Take a Sled Ride: One of my favorite things to do in the snow as a kid was to take a ride own a hill on a sled. At Discovery Cube, kids can enjoy a real sled with real snow down a hill.
- Learn the Science of Snow: As a parent, I appreciate the fact that science and learning, are weaved into every activity at Discovery Cube. Kids can experiment with ramps and friction while learning about the science of snow.
- Build and Race a Candy Car: Warm up inside the Cube during their annual Science of Gingerbread Exhibit.
The Science of Gingerbread
Each year, Discovery Cube hosts their annual Science of Gingerbread exhibit, perfectly timed for the holiday season. Here, kids can learn how heat, math, and engineering converge to bake and create the perfect gingerbread house. Kids can then make their own candy car out of treats provided by the cube, then compete in the Gingerbread Derby. Santa Claus will also make special appearances throughout the season (December 2, 3, 9,10, 16-24 from 11 am to 3 pm). The Science of Gingerbread runs through December 31, 2017.
