I first donned the Samsung Gear VR viewer last month in Laguna and stepped into one of Embassy Suites by Hilton’s premier resorts in a virtual reality experience that took my breath away.  The beginnings of virtual reality actually date back to the early 1900s, but I’m personally most familiar with Google’s panoramic street views that debuted in the early 2000s.
