No compensation was received for this post. As a LEGOLAND ambassador, I receive media tickets and access to events at the resort, which facilitated the writing of this post.
I’ve yet to meet a boy who isn’t a LEGO enthusiast, and as you can imagine, these colorful interlocking bricks have taken over our house! I knew that having a son would involve some degree of LEGO play but I had no idea my son would have such a sustained interest in creating and building with these toys. Once he realized that he could watch his favorite LEGO characters on TV and eventually play in their worlds, his interest deepened, so you can imagine his wide-eyed astonishment when we visited LEGOLAND for the very first time.
The resort is unique in that it brings to life kids’ favorite LEGO characters and stories and kids will be inspired by the fact that every single LEGO model displayed throughout the park was crafted with the same bricks they use at home. With enough time, creativity and LEGO bricks, it’s entirely possible that kids could re-create these models which adds an important element of realism for kids.
Every season, LEGOLAND California Resort introduces something new and exciting for guests, which adds an element of newness to those experiences. With the Fall season upon us, Brick-or-Treat Party Nights have returned to the resort, offering families a bricktastic Halloween experience unlike any other in Southern California.
Running through October 30th, kids can trick-or-treat throughout LEGOLAND Park, and SEA LIFE Aquarium, which is always a highlight of this special event. But did you know that there are so many other Halloween activities during Brick-or-Treat? After your child has loaded his/her bag with treats and the costume has come off, here are 7 Things You Don’t Want to Miss During Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND California.
1. Show Off Your Threads! Throughout the night, LEGOLAND will host 3 costume contests for children 12 and under (Group, LEGO Theme and Creative). Be sure to register at 4 pm near the Model Shop. Please note that registration ends 15 minutes before each contest begins. The prizes are bricktastic and include a 4-pack LEGOLAND California Resort Membership Passes and a gift basket for first place, and LEGOLAND California tickets and toys for 2nd and 3rd places.
2. Take a Ghostly Scavenger Hunt! Located in Miniland USA, take a cruise in search of LEGO Ghosts for your chance to win fantastic prizes!
3. Warm Up With Not-Too-Chilling Tales! Located at the Village Theater, families can enjoy Not-So-Scary Storytelling.
4. Take a Selfie With Your Favorite LEGO Character! Little girls can meet their favorite LEGO Friends at Heartlake City while boys meet Lord Vampyre and The Mummy at the Imagination Zone.
5. Dance the Night Away! This year, families can get their dance on at Hubble Bubble’s Dance Party at the Miniland Overlook on the Model Shop Rooftop or at Wanda’s Jellyfish Disco at SEA LIFE Aquarium.
6. Take in the Monster Scene With One of 5 Spooktacular Shows! Throughout the resort, you’ll find an entire crew of not-too-scary monsters, witches, and ghosts on-hand to share their favorite way to celebrate Halloween. Look for event-specific entertainment at the Courtyard Theater Stage (Boo Crew Welcome, Mail Order Monsters, The Witchettes Show) and at the Miniland Stage (Boo Crew Welcome, Monster Fighter Mash).
7. Get Into the Spirit of Halloween With The Spirits of Brick-or-Treat Light Show! Located on the long walk between the Land of Adventure and Castle Hill, this light show brings the castle to life with friendly spooks, pumpkin luminaries and haunting tunes. The show rotates every half hour so be sure to catch it more than once.
We hadn’t been to Brick-Or-Treat Party Nights at the LEGOLAND Resort in a few years and were pleasantly surprised at all there is to do. I definitely recommend visiting more than once during the season and making a day of it to truly enjoy all of the shows and entertainment specifically designed for this event.
In addition to adding treat stations (which has helped tremendously when it comes to lines), the resort introduced Candy Quest at the Adventurers’ Club in Fun Town, a mini walk-through trick-or-treat destination and a LEGO Pumpkin Patch Free Build at the Heartlake City Stables. There are also a number of roaming candy carts (many of which had no lines!) and 2 bonus treat stations inside SEA LIFE Aquarium. While we’re talking about trick-or-treating, don’t forget to find the LEGO NINJAGO Giveaway and commemorative Brick only during Brick-Or-Treat Party Nights!
Special Halloween Party at LEGOLAND Hotel

At little taken aback to read “Little girls can meet their favorite LEGO Friends at Heartlake City while boys meet Lord Vampyre and The Mummy at the Imagination Zone” in 2019
