Skyrocket Toys’ Chocolate Pen Makes Personalization Deliciously Easy

Baking and cooking together in the kitchen has been a tradition in our household since I was a child. My daughter has growing interest in baking and very often I’ll find her imitating her favorite YouTube personality from Nerdy Nummies. At 5, her ambitions are often more elaborate than our combined skills and time, so I’m always looking for tips and tricks to make our treats look and taste amazing.

Chocolate Pen

Personalized cakes, cookies, and other treats are a pervasive trend. Everything from gel to buttercream has been used to draw, write and create the types of designs that elevate home-baked treats to bakery-worthy. For the very first time since Bic introduced the ballpoint pen, comes a new type of edible ink…chocolate!  Last month while I was in Dallas, I had a first “taste” of Skyrocket Toys’ Candy Craft Chocolate Pen and the results are absolutely delectable.

Chocolate Designs

This motorized pen allows you to get creative and personal while you draw, write and customize your favorite baked goods. Included with the kit you’ll find everything you need to get started including a motorized chocolate pen (which requires), 4 tubes of chocolate in 4 different colors, tips, clamps, gift bags, ties and candy molds.  To assemble the pen, you’ll want to warm the chocolate in a cup of hot water before inserting the bag into it. This process can be tricky and I advise reading through the directions in their entirety or watching a YouTube video.

Colored Chocolate

Once you’ve assembled the pen, simply use it to draw or write you favorite designs, or use it with one of the included molds to create candy decor pieces that you can use to embellish cupcakes, cakes and other treats. The chocolate itself dries quickly, however, to hasten the process you can also place the chocolate in the refrigerator. While any unused chocolate can be stored and re-used, we found it easier to simply use up one color in its entirety before proceeding to the next.

Chocolate Pen Creations

Overall, this is a fun, easy activity for even young kids and the results look incredible.  You can purchase the chocolate pen in Pink and Blue at Walmart for $29.93. Be sure to look for Walmart’s exclusive holiday molds available for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
