During the summer, I find myself experimenting with thirst-quenching ways to seek reprieve from the heat. I love to juice, but the process is time-consuming and purchasing the amount of fruits and vegetables required to create something appetizingly healthy can be expensive. My kids, in particular, love Bolthouse Farms’ juices and smoothies, and very often we’ll grab a few while we’re heading to swim or scouts as a way to hydrate and get a nutritional boost.
Admittedly, I haven’t really experimented with Bolthouse Farms juices and smoothies since they really taste good as is. But the brand has been hosting a month-long summer cocktail (and mocktail!) series on Periscope and Meerkat and the recipes the bartenders have been dreaming up are absolutely mouthwatering. Their simple carrot juice has been transformed into a fizzy soda drink that’s good for you while their pomegranate juice has been used to create a fancy Pommel Horse. What’s great about these recipes is that you can easily re-create them from home for a fraction of the cost.
I invite you to join Simon Ford from The 86 Co. TODAY, July 30th, 2015 at 3:30 pm on Periscope and Meerkat for the last Summer Cocktail Series. Along with sharing stories from the bar, he’ll answer questions and create exciting new summer cocktail (and mocktail) recipes using his favorite seasonal ingredients. Today’s menu includes a Boltie Maria using Bolthouse Farms Carrot Mango & Ginger and a mocktail version called Savory Soul. Here are the details for today’s livestream event!
When: Thursday, July 30th at 3:30 pm PST
Where: On Periscope and Meerkat. Simply follow @BolthouseFarms at 3:30 pm for live demonstrations. Be sure to use the hashtag #ThirstyThursday #Cocktail #Mocktail and #BolthouseFarms if you decide to participate.
