As a young woman, I often received compliments on the youth-looking appearance of my skin. A combination of genetics (my mother and I often get questioned about whether or not we’re sisters!), melanin (something Latina women tend to have an abundance of), and a regular skin care regimen have all helped my skin to remain relatively smooth and youthful. However, as I age, I notice fine lines, particularly around my eyes. The occasional breakouts I still experience leave residual dark spots (thanks to that extra melanin) that don’t seem to be fading quickly enough with my normal skin care products.
