Every year, we find ourselves immersed within the stories and worlds of imaginative characters dreamed up by artists who seek to engage and inspire families through film. And every so often, a film resonates with us deeply and we find ourselves looking for ways to relive those stories and the characters that inspired us. For our family, Disney’s Frozen was the film that reinforced the value of family, loyalty, kindness and perseverance. My daughter, in particular, has enjoyed reading books inspired by the film, dressing up as Elsa, singing along with the soundtrack in the car, and re-enacting scenes from the film with her dolls. This year, she has a new and engaging way to experience the story and characters from the film with the debut of Frozen Fun at the Disneyland Resort.
Located inside Disney California Adventure Park (Hollywood Land), Frozen Fun immerses families in magical adventures with characters from the award-winning film. With the resort’s highly-anticipated 60 year anniversary celebration scheduled to launch in May, here are 4 Frozen Fun Activities you don’t want to miss at the Disneyland Resort!
Olaf’s Snow Fest – They say it doesn’t snow in Southern California, but at the Disneyland Resort, anything you can dream of is possible. Inside Stage 17 you’ll find a castle courtyard inspired by Arendelle with music, lighting, snow, and your favorite summer-loving snowman, Olaf. The highlight of this area is the expansive snow play area which features a snow slide. The environment is beautiful and lively, in part due to the music and stories presented by traveling musical duo The Tubadors and The Frolicking Fjords. This is a great spot to sit down and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and an Olaf cookie while taking in the sites and sounds of Arendelle.
“For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” – You might not recognize the Muppet Vision 3D Theatre, which underwent a royal transformation for Frozen Fun! Now known as the Crown Jewel Theatre of Arendelle, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff will retell the beloved story through comedy and music. Audiences will love singing along with the characters as the most popular musical sequences are displayed with the lyrics for all to enjoy.
Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome – Every time we visit the resort, my daughter requests a visit with Anna and Elsa. And with a new location inside the Disney Animation building and the resort’s FASTPASS service, we can enjoy all of the Frozen Fun activities while holding our place in line. While you’re inside, don’t forget to view the animation displays featuring new scenes detailing Arendelle and the world of Frozen and practice your artistic skills during Olaf drawing experience and Marshmallow-drawing class.
“Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party” – Frequent visitors to the resort know that nighttime is as exciting and unique as daytime at both parks. As a mom to small children, I was excited to learn that a freeze-tastic, family-friendly dance party was debuting at Disney California Adventure Park. This interactive party will celebrate the film with music, games, photo opps, food, an ice sculptor and much more.
Where else can I find Frozen Fun at the Disneyland Resort?
At Disneyland Park, be sure to check out a brand new spin on the story at Fantasy Faire, presented by Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones and with special appearances by Anna, Elsa and the Faire Maidens! And right before Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, Anna, Elsa, and Olaf will create a flurry of wintery fun aboard their “Frozen” float made of snow and ice.
In the Downtown Disney District, girls and boys can participate in a freeze-tastic transformation as Elsa, Anna or Olaf at Anna & Elsa’s Boutique. Throughout the district, you’ll also find toys, books, apparel, and treats inspired by the film at World of Disney and Marceline’s Confectionary. And if you’re looking for a uniquely personal experience, check out Build-a-Bear’s new collection featuring Olaf the Snowman, Elsa Bear and Anna Bear.
