I could spend endless amounts of time on Pinterest dreaming of all the gourmet dishes I’d love to prepare and the DIY projects that I know would spruce up my home. During the holiday season, my “mood board” becomes very active because I often correlate homemade decor and gifts with tradition. Ironically, this is also the busiest time of year, creating a disconnect between my dreams and reality.
Earlier this week, I sat down with some of the craftiest writers in this space to create Michael’s Christmas Countdown Charger. It is a rare thing for me to sit down and spend an hour or two crafting, but I realized after that night that it is something I want to do regularly. Crafting not only allows me the opportunity to express my creativity, it is incredibly”therapeutic,” particularly in an age where we are always on the go. I also really enjoyed crafting with other women because we were able to bounce ideas off of each other while talking about our work, our families, and our lives.
This Christmas Countdown Charger is one of the crafts that you will have the opportunity to make this Saturday during Michaels’ Holiday Pinterest Party. From 1 pm to 4 pm on November 15th, guests are invited into their local store to get assistance making one of the holiday projects hand-selected for showcase during this event. This is the opportunity to take your ideas from the page (or the screen) to the table. Here is a preview of the holiday projects that will be featured this Saturday at Michael’s:
Festive Mason Jar Led Luminary
Mason Jar Lid Snowy Scene Ornament
Christmas Countdown Charger
Painted Apothecary Jar
Yarn Wrapped Trees
Glittered Jar Candle
Lemax Mason Jar Scenes
Gold Glitter Paper Ornaments
Christmas Ornament Wall Art
Ornament Mesh Wreath
The Christmas Countdown Charger we made is one of their easier projects and can be completed in as little as 30 minutes (not including the time necessary for the project to dry). I continue to be inspired by the various ways to use chalkboard paint and I like the idea of having a visual piece of artwork that my kids can reference daily as we approach Christmas. The most difficult part of this project is writing the message and creating the polka dots with paint pens. Be sure to use paint pens with a fine tip and consider using a stencil or round object for perfectly round polka dots.
During Michaels’ Holiday Pinterest Party, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a special 30% discount on any supply needed to create the above projects. Michael’s will also have some of the more basic supplies on hand for you to use including scissors, pens, hot glue guns, rulers, paintbrushes, etc.
If you’re looking to decorate your home with a personalized project or gift a hand-made item, visit Michael’s this Saturday November 15th from 1 pm to 4 pm for a festive Holiday Pinterest Party!
