I love the conversations my children and I have about what they want to be when they grow up. Without fail it changes from week to week, ranging from doctor or policeman to YouTube Sensation (I think they’ve been watching EvanTubeHD and Nerdy Nummies!). With just a few more weeks until the start of the new school year, my kids and I will continue our Summer Adventures this Friday at Pretend City to participate in their “When I Grow Up Day!”
Pretend City Children’s Museum celebrates it’s fifth anniversary this month, and what better way to commemorate the “good” that this museum does for the community then to help children explore their futures. During Pretend City’s “When I Grow Up Day!” children will have an opportunity to meet and engage with professionals from our community. This kid-centric career day introduces children to accomplished professionals right here in Orange County and will inspire them to dream big when it comes to their future profession.
What: When I Grow Up Day!
When: Friday, August 22, 2014 from 10 am to 3 pm
Where: Pretend City Children’s Museum, 29 Hubble Irvine, CA 92618
Cost: Free with admission
Pretend City Children’s Museum is unique in that the museum not only seeks to foster a child’s intellectual development and imagination through play, but also serves as a community resource, educating and empowering families to take the initiative to monitor their child’s development through screenings and other tools.
I hope you’ll consider joining our family at Pretend City this Friday as we celebrate the museum’s fifth birthday and explore what we want to be when we grow up.
