Even before The LEGO Movie debuted in theaters earlier this year, my son’s favorite playtime activity was building, creating, and telling stories with his LEGO bricks and mini-figures. Earlier this week, The LEGO Movie was finally released on Blu-ray, and you can imagine that this is THE top item on his birthday wish list. The Blu-ray Combo Pack retails for $35.99 and includes The LEGO Movie on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital. You can also opt for the “Everything is Awesome Edition” which includes an exclusive LEGO Vitruvius minifigure, a bonus 3D movie, a collectible 3D Emmet photo, and the exclusive bonus feature “Dream Job: Meet The LEGO® Builders.” The retail price on this edition is $59.98.
In honor of the Blu-ray/DVD release of The LEGO Movie, they’ve released a brand new app that allows fans the opportunity to create mini 6-second LEGO GIF videos that can be shared via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, interact with the characters, and play the song “Everything is Awesome.” The app is highly interactive with a bit of hilarity, reminiscent of the film.
