I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
August is always a bittersweet month for me. The earlier sunsets, subtle shifts in weather, and slow trickle of back-to-school motifs in stores and other venues remind me that we’ll soon be back to a more stringent routine. In the midst of our summer adventures, it’s not uncommon for me to slack off on my diet and exercise routine and the approaching school year is my time to get back on track.
Exercise isn’t something that has always come easy for me and I’ve found that running is my fitness activity of choice. I like the flexibility that comes along with running and the ability to push myself as I see fit. It’s also something I can do quickly, which is ideal for my busy schedule. Apart from a good pair of running shoes and comfortable, breathable workout clothing, it’s also a sport that doesn’t require much in the way of expense.
Running puts a strain on ankles and knees, and those who race and/or compete can attest to the importance of shoes. I can’t remember the last time I purchased a pair of athletic shoes for myself, which is a testament to the quality of the shoes I do own. I’ve purchased several pairs of Reebok shoes over the years, some of which still reside in my closet. And while they are perfectly wearable, I thought that the coming school year was the perfect time to update my style.
Traditionally, I’ve looked to specialty stores to purchase my running shoes, so when I learned that Famous Footwear actually carries quality brands like Reebok, I thought I’d check out their selection to see if I could make my money go further. In my area, there are at least 5 stores I can easily drive to so I decided to peruse their online selection prior to visiting my local store.
Online, I found several styles of running shoes and I finally narrowed it down to these:
After reading the reviews and description, both shoes seemed to be well-suited for running, but I really liked the look of the Sublite TR style (pictured on the left). As suggested, I called my local store and they happened to have my shoe of choice in my size, so I headed in and purchased them. While my local store had quite an expansive selection of shoes, I was only able to find one other style of Reebok shoes (Princess). I loved the selection I saw online so I highly recommend calling your local store before heading in to ensure they have your preferred style and size.
Once home, I decided to take these shoes for a light run. One thing to note is that the shoes run about a half size bigger than I normally wear, so I ended up having to exchange them. Once I had the correct size, they wore comfortably. They are supportive, durable, and surprisingly lightweight thanks to a cushioning footbed and 3D SubLite foam. I don’t typically run in weather, but I have many friends who do, and the traction these shoes provide is ideal for a variety of terrains and weather conditions. I tend to be a fashionista when it comes to shoes and I love the subtle splashes of pink that accent the shoe, giving it a hip, modern look.
These shoes normally retail for $74.99 but I was able to purchase them in-store for just $44.99. And if you purchase them online, they’re just $39.99! Both in-store and online, Famous Footwear is having a Buy One, Get One Half Off Sale on most shoes. Plus, if you join their rewards program, you’ll save an additional 20% online!
You can check out Famous Footwear’s entire line of Reebok shoes online.
