For Disney fans, D23 Expo is the opportunity to engage in new, exclusive, experiences, some of which have never been seen before. Even before the show opened, tickets for Saturday had sold out in anticipation of this year’s event which is predicted to be even bigger and better than previous years.
During a media reception this week, I had an opportunity to preview the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit before it opened to the public. This is one of the most popular exhibits at the expo and I personally recommend seeing it at the beginning of your visit to ensure you have enough time to take it all in.
Having lived in Europe, I had several bucket-list items on my agenda during my travels, one of which was to visit the iconic Harrods, a prestigious luxury boutique in London, England. When I learned that an exclusive collection of Disney Princess-inspired gowns would be displayed for the first time in the US at the Expo, I made it a priority to visit.
The collection includes dresses inspired by the stories of Tiana, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Belle, and Show White which were first displayed during the 2012 holiday season at Harrods.
These gowns are stunning, whimsical, and handcrafted by some of the most renowned designers in the industry including Ralph & Russo, Versace, Eli Saab, Marchesa, Escada, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Jenny Packham, Valentino, and Oscar de la Renta.
