As a child, we’d spend many summer weekends at the beach. My father would fish on the pier while my my mother and I shopped or played at the beach. While Malibu was often our beach of choice for it’s quiet, serene locale, we’d often head further South to Redondo Beach because the pier was bustling with music and entertainment and offered spectacular oceanfront dining and unique, hyperlocal shopping.
My first memory of enjoying a Frosty was on that pier. At the time there was a Wendy’s location on the pier and my mother and I began a tradition where we would cool off with the creamy frozen dessert each time we made a visit.
In honor of Father’s Day, Wendy’s has partnered with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to donate 50 cents from every Frosty purchase to benefit foster children in need of homes. Last year, the weekend-long campaign raised more than $1.4 million.
In addition to purchasing a Frosty, you can donate by purchasing a Frosty pin-up for $1. Wendy’s will donate an additional 25 cents to DTFA for every Frosty Card sent. And, if you’re on social, you can share stories, photos or videos of your first Frosty memories on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #FirstFrosty. Wendy’s will donate $1 for each memory shared, up to $50,000.
