She’s best known for her performance as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and even today, Judy Garland still remains one of the most talented and versatile performers. But many people don’t know the personal struggles the immensely talented actress/singer faced, which ultimately resulted in her downfall.
This Spring, Peter Quilter’s musical drama about the last few months of Garland’s life will begin its national tour in Los Angeles. Tracie Bennett will reprise her role as the infamous actress in End of the Rainbow, beginning March 5th at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
While in London with her new fiancé, Garland prepares for her comeback. But her battle with addiction accompanied by her strained relationships threaten to destroy her and her career…
Bennett was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow, embodying the late actress/musician’s “talent, tenacity, and sharp wit.” See her in the musical drama this Spring at the Ahmanson Theatre. Performances run through April 21st, 2013.
Right now, the theatre will offer special pricing on tickets to select performances: $49/$59/$69 seats which is a savings of about $11. Tickets can be ordered by calling the box office at 213.972.4400 or using the code ZING online at CenterTheaterGroup.org/Zing.
