Earlier this week, as I was filling out a survey for a brand, I realized that when it comes to trying new beauty products I’m rather adventurous. I definitely have my favorites and my staple items, but I’m always open to trying new products, particularly if they are trendy, bold, or colorful!
While I definitely take note of the latest fashion and beauty trends, my interest is particularly piqued when a celebrity launches a new line. People Magazine named her one of the most beautiful people in the world, so when I learned that Salma Hayek developed a beauty line exclusive to CVS, I was very interested in trying the products out. After all, perhaps I could learn more about how to take better care of my skin or enhance my facial features with the products.
Nuance Salma Hayek was developed by the actress to offer women premium beauty products that are affordable and effective. Interestingly enough, Hayek’s grandmother was a cosmetologist who developed her own homemade beauty remedies and Salma Hayek used this knowledge to help develop the new line. There are over 100 products in the new exclusive beauty line made with ingredients such as blue agave and prickly pear which were inspired by Hayek’s personal beauty ritual and her global travel. I love that Hayek was so personally involved with the development of the line ensuring that each product was rigorously tested and met the highest quality standards.
During a lovely immersive pampering event, a few of us had an opportunity to experience the products to see exactly how they work. Since I can never get enough relaxation, I opted for a massage and a manicure.
During the massage, the therapist used the Nuance Salma Hayek My Secret Super Moisturizing Body Cream which includes shea butter, macadamia seed oil & honey. Not only did it smell lovely, it left my skin incredibly soft and moisturized.
Before children, you’d rarely see me without perfectly manicured nails. However, significant time and cost are involved with regular salon manicures and pedicures so it makes more sense to paint my nails at home. It’s very difficult for me to keep polish on for longer than a few days so I was really interested in seeing how Salma Hayek’s Nail Lacquers held up to my frequent hand-washing, kid-ventures and culinary aspirations. Surprisingly, I was able to keep the polish on without it chipping for almost a week. Impressive!

I’ve tried a number of products from Salma Hayek’s new line and I have to say that my favorites are the cosmetics. I love experimenting with color and I feel like I can be bold and daring without having to spend a lot of money. Additionally, the hair, skin, and body care products are effective and feel more like those you’d find at a specialty store. Even the product packaging is trendy and luxe making it seem impossible that they are so affordable!
