“Los Angeles makes the rest of California seem authentic”
Jonathan Culler
There aren’t many cities I’d like to call home. Having traveled all over the world, I’ve experienced everything from remote and exotic to chic and cosmopolitan. I’ve lived in climates that see both freezing and drought-like temperatures…rain, wind, sleet, and snow. Despite the fact that there are some incredibly picturesque, family-friendly, affordable, entertaining cities, I always come back to Los Angeles.
I’ve lived in Southern California most of my life, and yet there are still parts of Los Angeles I’ve yet to explore. I imagine it would take a lifetime to experience all of the art, culture, and history that characterize this city.
Apart from it’s idyllic weather and proximity to the ocean, Los Angeles is the city that has it all. Regardless of your interest (food, art, history, entertainment, sports, ec.), you’ll likely find something that fascinates you…something that draws you into the city.
While there would be no way for me to tell you all there is to love about this city, here is a photographic peek at some of my favorite things to see and do in and around the city of angels.
In most parts of LA, the ocean is just one hour away by car…
And two hours to the mountains
The best shopping!
Plenty of family-friendly spaces and seasonal activities
A vibrant art and theater scene
Diverse, educational, sometimes-eccentric museums
Hollywood…and all of its cinematic magic!
And the best amusement parks ever!

I was born and raised in L.A. – I have been a central coast transplant for 7 years and long to go back…even if most people think I am nuts! L.A. is full of amazing art, adventures, history and culture
