Crayola’s “Wild” New Products For the New School Year

Posted by Caryn Bailey 4 Comments

Earlier this week, my son and I went out for our very first Back-To-School shopping venture.  His excitement is contagious and there are moments when I am actually looking forward to starting this new chapter.  I know that this coming year is going to involve a significant amount of change for him, so I’m easing him into it by talking with him about what to expect, asking him what questions/concerns/fears he has, and taking a positive approach to the new school year.

I always looked forward to back-to-school shopping with my mom when I was a child, so this year, I’ve taken my son into the store to allow him the opportunity to pick out his own backpack, lunchbox, and some of his clothing and school supplies.  For the most part, school supplies resemble those I grew up with…Elmer’s Glue, Bic Pens and Pencils, Scotch Tape, and Crayola Crayons and Markers. And then there are those new, innovative products that just didn’t exist when I was a child. Like Crayola’s new Wild Notes, which make note-taking “wildly” colorful.

Crayola Wild Notes

The new Wild Notes line features a pen and paper system that work together to make writing notes fun with a rainbow of unique colors and patterns.  The line, which is available at Walmart, includes Sticky Notes, Index Cards, Notebooks (mini and full-size), Refill Paper, and Journals.  At present, my son can use the notebooks to practice his numbers and letters, and as he gets older I can see him using the index cards to help him study for exams.  I personally like the sticky notes because I can leave him encouraging messages in his lunchbox/backpack or in his room.

Dry Erase Crayons

Last week, I converted my kids’ old table into a creative art space where they can apply magnets and color with dry erase crayons and markers.  We’ve always been fans of dry erase boards because we can play games and draw pictures without wasting a ton of paper, but we’re not fans of the odor that accompanies dry erase markers.  Crayola’s Dry Erase Crayons solve that problem and offer a way for children to achieve the dry erase experience, without getting marker all over their hands. The crayons wipe easily and their are a wide variety of colors available.

Crayola Dry Erase Board

We received Crayola’s Dry Erase Crayons Board Set with a pack of Washable Dry Erase Markers.  We like the two-sided dry erase board because we can use the white side for notes and the black side for our more creative coloring ventures.  The board is lightweight, compact, and portable and can be used on-the-go or hung on a wall for notes and family communication.  I like the idea of putting it in our kids’ room so they can use it to color or read reminders from us. The set comes with an Erase Mitt to easily wipe off the crayons and the low-odor markers wash easily from hands, clothes and surfaces.

We’ve been long time fans of Crayola’s products and their new back-to-school line is perfect for instilling creativity and stimulating childrens’ imaginations. For more information, visit Crayola and your local Walmart where the products can be purchased.

Disclosure:  I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
