Despite the fact that we’re still several weeks away from the first day of summer, I always feel like Memorial weekend is the unofficial start, since the weather typically warms up around this time of year. We spent the long weekend relaxing, cooking, and sprucing up our home in preparation for a summer of family time and entertaining.
I recently had an opportunity to team up with Frito-Lay and Chef Stephen Kalil to share some simple tips and recipes that will help make entertaining fun all summer long.
Here is a recap of the tips you’ll find on the video:
1. Keep at least one recipe on hand…something simple that you enjoy making or a favorite amongst your guests
2. Start a list and shop the day before so you can focus on food preparation the day of the party/gathering
3. Try utilizing a speed scratch recipe, which in essence is a ready-made dip that you’ve turned into something fun and creative. I like the Five Finger Shrimp Ceviche recipe featured in the video
4. Update a traditional signature recipe
5. Lay the dips out and pair them with Tostitos scoops to help tide your guests over until additional entrees are ready
6. Consider using quality, disposable eco-friendly plates to help make clean-up simple
7. Ensure that trash bags are visible and consider placing one for regular trash and one for recyclables.
What are your best tips for entertaining with ease?
