It wasn’t until I spent some time last year working on several campaigns with Child Hunger Ends Here, that I realized the scope of our nation’s hunger problem. And while the numbers are astounding, particularly given the fact that we live in a country of affluence, it wasn’t until I actually volunteered at our local food bank that I began to understand the scope and depth of this problem. I realized that hunger isn’t a phenomenon that far removed from my community. In fact, it’s likely that my husband and I may know someone who doesn’t know where their next meal will come from (even if they would never tell us).
As I recently mentioned, Walmart has partnered with several well-known brands to help fight hunger. This month-long campaign ends soon, so I encourage you to vote for the community you’d like to receive funding. Simply go to Walmart’s Facebook app to vote before April 30th, 202.
Since I am an LA girl at heart, I have been voting for the Greater Los Angeles community to receive funding. The Walmart Foundation will award 1 community $1 million and 20 runner-ups will each win $50,000. For more information about how Walmart is Fighting Hunger, just visit the site.
Disclosure: I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
