A few years ago, you wouldn’t find me baking vegan cupcakes or whipping up a batch of gluten free tomato basil soup. In fact, I didn’t really enjoy being in the kitchen unless I was baking simple dishes because I lacked confidence in my culinary skills. When my son was diagnosed with food allergies more than 2 years ago, I was inspired to find ways for him to enjoy those foods he loved before his diagnosis. These days, I read books, blogs and magazines…talk to other moms, specialists, and those with more experience than I have…to glean as much information as possible so that I can help my son live a life as close to normal as possible.
Whether you’re a mom who loves the kitchen or a mom like me who’s just getting her feet wet, new kitchen items can inspire a renewed love for cooking and baking. While shopping for my own mother at Walmart, I spotted these attractive, affordable gift options:
This 10-speed blender from Black & Decker comes in a vibrant red and retails for just $29!
I also put together a basket of kitchen linens including four red placemats, a white linen tablecloth, and two cotton velour terry towels. Because I already had the basket, the gift (excluding tax) cost just $23.82!
I like Walmart’s Mainstays line because the designs are modern and colorful and despite the lower prices, I don’t find quality to be compromised.
What are you getting that special mom in your life for Mother’s Day?
Disclosure: I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
