If you’re a golf afcionado, then you might be following the Kia Classic, a women’s professional golf tournament currently being held at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. As the name would suggest, Kia Motors is the title sponsor, and thanks to the brand, I’ll be watching the tournament all weekend long from the Kia Classic Skybox! This is my first women’s professional golf tournament and I’m excited because in general, I have a sincere appreciation for all types of women athletes.
Because it wouldn’t be a complete weekend without at least some immersion into the brand’s vehicles, I’ll be driving a Kia Optima Hybrid all weekend long! The mid-size, four-door sedan, with it’s combination 2.4-liter engine and 30 kW electric motor, was unveiled during the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The result is a full gasoline – electric hybrid that gets up to 37 miles to the gallon!
My drive between my home and Carlsbad is approximately an hour each way, so I’ll be updating you on the vehicle’s fuel efficiency as part of my review.
You can keep up with the latest by following #KiaClassic all weekend long!
No compensation was received for this post. I was invited to the Kia Classic and provided a vehicle loan as well as accommodations and meals.
