For many families, this week marks the beginning of the school season. Today, we started our new early morning schedule and proudly made it in time for my son’s first day of Pre-K. Now that he’s in school full-time (which makes me a bit sad), I have time to work on projects around the house and home-cooked meals. While I definitely think it’s going to be less hectic, I’m still planning on prepping quick meals for those evenings when we are scheduled to be at church or another event.
I recently interviewed David Eisel, Executive Development Chef at Bob Evans Farms. Since this season tends to be hectic, I asked Chef Eisel for some suggestions on how to spend less time in the kitchen while still providing a healthy meal. Here are the questions I asked:
1. It’s back to school season….what recipes/meal ideas do you have for families on-the-go?
2. If there is just one thing we as moms..as women could do to save time in the kitchen, what would it be?
3. Must have kitchen tool/appliance/gadget (etc.)
4. Suggestions for picky eaters?
5. What is your go-to food/ingredient/spice etc. for creating meals (what should moms, women have in the kitchen at all times)?
Did you catch Chef Eisel’s tips on Speed Scratch (taking an item from the grocery store and creating a dish) and his go-to kitchen gadget (a slow cooker)?
What are your kitchen time saving tips?
