Last week, I picked my son up from preschool and his teacher asked me when we visited New York City.  I just looked at her puzzled.  Apparently my son was talking about riding in a taxi in New York City.  And then it dawned on me…he was talking about the book we’ve been reading.

Earlier this year, Look Out World, Here I Come launched it’s first product, the New York Adventure Kit.  The kit includes an interactive DVD and an activity book which introduces children to places they may not have ever been.  The book and DVD compliment (not mimic) each other and highlight some of New York City’s key sights and sounds.  Through city-themed activities, children learn about shapes, colors, and more. The DVD is cute (particularly the characters that symbolize travel) and includes a very catchy tune!

Look Out World, Here I Come was created in collaboration with child development experts to inspire curiosity and a sense of adventure.  The DVD follows Otto, Blink, and Casey as they “hail a taxi to Central Park, visit the tippy-top of the Empire State Building, take a picture with the Statue of Liberty, make friends with an elephant at the Bronx Zoo, find colors in Times Square, and stomp like a dinosaur at the Museum of Natural History.” The activities in the book are unique and creative.  Parents and children can cook a New York City Pizza, dress up like the Statue of Liberty, and build their own Empire State Building.  My son adores both the book and the DVD (so much that he talks about it at school).

This kit came at a perfect time, since we’re traveling to New York City this summer.  My son now has a bit of a glimpse into what the city will be like.  My husband and I love to travel and we hope to inspire our children to be open-minded about our world.  Look Out World, Here I Come, is a great starting point for introducing our children to places around the world.  I can’t wait to see what city will be featured next.

Look Out World, Here I Come Adventure Kits are designed for children ages 2 and up and retail for $21.95.
