All About Baby: Baby Briefcase

Posted by Caryn Bailey 3 Comments

I don’t tend to make a lot of New Year’s resolutions, but I have two in mind for this year.  The first is to lose the baby weight for good.  The second?  To get organized!  For some reason I struggle immensely with organization.  Whether it be my fridge, my desk, or my children’s important paperwork, organization for me is a struggle.  And now that we have 2 children, it’s that much more important for me to get and stay organized.

If you’ve had a baby, then you know that there is a lot of paperwork to keep track of.  We left the hospital with a ton of information including her birth certificate and social security paperwork, discharge forms and appointments, and information regarding immunizations, her hearing screen, and the genetic screening test we completed before she was discharged.  I’m not even sure that I covered all of the “forms” we left with that day.  If I didn’t have a place to put all of this paperwork, it would get lost or misplaced.  It is vital to have important forms and medical information in one location.  I know from numerous experiences with a sick little boy, that ready access to this information helps make doctor’s appointments and ER visits manageable.  If I’m disorganized, than things feel chaotic and out of control.

Developed by a mom, The Baby Briefcase is the key to getting and staying organized.  I actually purchased another one for my son because it’s so useful.  The Baby Briefcase comes with 15 plastic folders (6 of which are already labeled for you), a thank you note tracker, and two baby wallet info cards. Everything is neatly packaged in a durable plastic carrying case which fits *most* filing cabinets.  It’s very roomy and makes organizing your child’s paperwork neat and easy.  I like the suggested folder categories that come listed with the briefcase (because it means one less thing to think about).

This is a highly useful product if you use it.  We received it before our baby girl was born and my husband went to get it while I was recovering in the hospital.  From the start we filed her paperwork away in the Baby Briefcase.  If you make it a point to use it, it will save you time, effort, and most importantly keep you organized.  We have to put my son’s paperwork in the Briefcase we bought him, but once it’s organized, everything will be in one place.  We simply bring it with us to doctor’s appointments, etc.

The Baby Briefcase retails for $29.95 and is available online.

I did not receive compensation for this post.  I did receive a product, courtesy of the company, in order to facilitate my review.

What a fantastic idea!!! I wish they had a “family brief case” instead. Having 5 kids, it would be chaotic having 5 of those, plus a place for documents pertaining to hubby and I! LOVE it though!!!!

This is really cool… I wish there was something like this when my kids were little, it would have made things so much easier.
What a terrific review… I think everyone with children should have one of these for each child. I think I’ll get one of these for my grandson.

What a great idea! I wish I had heard about this when I went to the hospital!
