Chocolate and coffee. Two of my favorite foods to indulge on. They’re also two food items most people enjoy receiving. I’ve given and received both (contentedly) year after year. I’m a fru-fru coffee drinker and particularly enjoy lattes, mochas, and ice-blended drinks. I like rich coffee and can usually tell how it’s going to taste by the way it smells.
Imagine my delight when I found out Godiva was launching a line of coffees! Godiva chocolate has always been synonymous with gourmet. Apart from the fact that they look lovely, they have a distinct and intense rich taste. The company now offers specialty coffees which can be purchased in grocery stores nationwide. Here is a little more information from the site:
Godiva Coffee offers medium roast specialty coffee inspired by Godiva Chocolatier’s signature truffles. The coffee is crafted from premium 100 percent Arabic beans carefully selected for its smooth flavor.
The line includes 4 flavored coffees (ground) and an unflavored Breakfast Blend available in both ground and whole bean, caffeinated and decaffeinated. My husband drinks coffee every single day and typically prefers his coffee unflavored. Naturally his favorite was the Breakfast Blend. He likes to think of himself as somewhat of a coffee connoisseur and prefers to grind his own coffee beans and only brew with a French Press. So I thought that asking his opinion was highly important. He liked the fact that the coffee is rich but not overwhelming. They’re all medium roast blends so they’re not as strong as a darker blend typically used for an espresso. I prefer the flavored coffees, my favorite being the Chocolate Truffle. While my husband prefers to drink his coffee “black,” I like to put milk or cream (preferably) and a touch of sugar. Because the coffees are flavored, I don’t recommend over-sweetening them so you can fully enjoy their rich and distinct taste. The coffee has a delightful aroma when brewed, the beans are not over-roasted, and the coffee is smooth rather than bitter. I’ve only had a chance to sample them hot but I imagine they’d be wonderful iced too. Here is a quick summary of the other flavors offered by Godiva:
Hazelnut Creme: Inspired by the Godiva Open Oyster Praline Truffle, this blend has an enticing toasted hazelnut flavor with subtle notes of vanilla and a sweet and creamy finish.
Chocolate Truffle: Inspired by the Godiva Milk Chocolate Truffle, this blend offers a melt-in-your mouth, classic milk chocolate flavor, softened with notes of vanilla and caramel and a smooth finish.
French Vanilla: Inspired by the Godiva French Vanilla Truffle, this blend offers delicate Tahitian vanilla notes and a hint of a sweet cream flavor.
Caramel: Inspired by the Godiva Milk Caramel Embrace, this blend pairs the essence of slow-cooked caramel with brown sugar undertones and a smooth, creamy finish.
Breakfast Blend: This blend offers an uplifting and well-crafted medium body taste.
A 12 ounce bag of Godiva Coffee retails for $8.99 and available in retailers nationwide. They come in pretty packages and would make a wonderful gift (perhaps in trio) or stocking stuffer.

Huge fan of caramel here! Those would make great stocking stuffers indeed. I went with harney and sons tea for my stuffers this year. But, I think we’re at least thinking along the right tracks 🙂

These sound right up my alley!! You sound like me when it comes to coffee and chocolate, I cannot live a day without some of both, and to have them in one cup, especially by GODIVA – which in my humble opinion should be it’s own food group – is something that I would LOVE to have in my Christmas stocking!
Thanks for a GREAT review!!
