5 Reasons To Use Walmart Pickup For Holiday Shopping

My daughter has ONE thing on her list this year. So when I walked over to the empty Shopkins aisle at my local store in search of these highly sought-after tradable, collectible, miniature characters based on items you’d find in a store, I had a mini moment of panic. My next, most immediate thought was to shop online, and soon.

Shopkins at Walmart

Fortunately, Walmart.com has an expansive selection of this season’s hottest collectible phenomenon for girls. I know…you’re probably wondering whether or not you’d even get your order in time for Christmas. With Walmart Pickup, you can order over a million items online and pick them up as soon as today at any Walmart store without paying for shipping.

Walmart Pickup

How to Use Walmart Pickup:

1. Create a free account on Walmart.com.

2. Visit Walmart.com/Pickup to begin shopping for items that can be shipped (for free!) to the store of your choice as soon as today.

3. Once your order is ready for pickup, you’ll receive an email and/or text notification.

4. Visit the Walmart Pickup area at your local store (mine was located at the back of the store near the Electronics department).

5. Notify an associate when you are at the Walmart Pickup area. At my local store, there was a docked keypad dedicated for notifying associates when a customer is present to pick up an item.

6. Be sure to have your confirmation number and photo ID to pick up your item.

Top 5 Reasons to Use Walmart Pickup:

1. You can shop in your PJs. As much as I enjoy in-store shopping, during this time of year I can’t easily get in and out due to the crowds. Shopping from home means I don’t have to tote my kids with me and allows me the opportunity to shop into the wee hours of the night once they are asleep.

2. You’ll enjoy a more expansive selection of items to choose from. My local store can’t possibly carry everything I’m looking for, and very often, I find items online that I’ve never seen before. I’ve also found a more diverse selection of colors, styles and sizes when I shop online.

3. You will save time. Rather than trek all over town in search of my daughter’s one and only request for Christmas, I can spend my time doing the things I really love, like baking with them or spending time at the Happiest Place On Earth!

4.  The service is free.

5. There is no minimum order size.

Shopkins at Walmart

I ordered 2 items from Walmart.com to supplement my kids Christmas gifts. The first was a Shopkins Season 3 12-Pack, which was on Rollback last week for just $8.77. The very first time I ordered the item, it was out of stock so I had to re-order it. My email confirmation stated that the item would be ready by December 15th, however, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a text message over the weekend letting me know it would be ready for pick up early. I was already shopping at my local Walmart at the time, so I found it super convenient to just head to the back of my store to pick up the item.

At present, I’m still waiting for my second item, Angry Birds Star Wars for Nintendo 3DS. My confirmation email indicates it will be here before Christmas which gives me peace of mind. If you’re wondering where your item is, you can always log into your account and track it under your orders.

To begin shopping for items that can be picked up today, visit Walmart.com/Pickup.
