LEGOLAND California is one of the coolest places your family can ever go. I remember the first time we saw ground break at LEGOLAND California Resort for the LEGOLAND Hotel. I knew this bricktastic addition to the resort was just the beginning of a brand new, immersive place where kids can engage and get hands-on with their favorite LEGO bricks.
Over the years, my kids have grown up along with LEGOLAND. We watched as the Force took over Miniland, were one of the first guests to stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel, made new friends at Heartlake City, and mastered the art of Spinjitzu at Ninjago World. We’ve spent warm summer days and cool summer nights exploring LEGOLAND’s special activities like Brick or Treat and Holiday Snow Days. And next year, there will be a host of new experiences coming to LEGOLAND California Resort. From a brand new hotel rooms to new Star Wars additions, here are 3 Things We’re Looking Forward To At LEGOLAND California in 2017.
LEGOLAND California is Big Time for 2017
LEGOLAND California NINJAGO Rooms at LEGOLAND Hotel and a Second LEGOLAND Hotel
This summer, kids honed their skills at NINJAGO World. In 2017, families staying at LEGOLAND Hotel will be joined by Cole, Nya, Kai, Lloyd and other LEGO ninjas in 18 premium themed rooms and 2 premium themed suites.
These rooms will replace the kingdom-themed rooms as LEGOLAND California begins to break ground for the new LEGO Castle hotel, scheduled to open in 2018. The new hotel will boast 250 rooms and feature a new restaurant, pool area and themed Castle decor.
LEGOLAND California Water Park Expansion
Summers in California often extend into the Fall, making a cool down at the water park a must, even in October! Adding on to their recent expansion, which included LEGO Legends of CHIMA-themed play areas and a wave pool, kids will soon be able to ride their first wave in Surfer’s Bay. In this competitive water raceway, kids can compete against each other by racing down one of six water slides. The new themed area will feature a “spray ground” with multiple water jets and sufficient LEGO models to inspire creativity.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Miniland Model Display
The debut of LEGO Star Wars Miniland was soon followed by the 8-foot LEGO Star Wars Death Star Model. In 2017, guests will be able to relive their favorite scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with the introduction of six scenes from the first 30 minutes of the film. Scenes include Kylo Ren’s capture of Poe at planet Jakku, Rey’s rescue of BB-8, Poe and Finn’s escape from the Star Destroyer Finalizer, the wreck of Finn and Poe’s TIE Fighter, Rey, Finn and BB-8’s escape from Niima Outpost, and the escape from the Starship Graveyard. This new addition will also features a 16-foot long LEGO model of the Star Destroyer Finalizer. When built, this will be the longest LEGO Star Wars Miniland model ever created. Opens March 2017.
