Time is probably the one thing I wish I had more of. Shopping, baking, cooking, and prepping the home for the holidays are traditions I look forward to each year, but the stress of juggling these “to-do’s” with work and home life can be overwhelming. While I have a few tech and photography items topping my wish list this year, my kids know that a couple of hours at the spa or a night to leisurely sit down at one of the numerous gourmet restaurants here in Orange County are some of the best gifts that I could receive.
Experiential giving continues to be a popular trend because many of these gifts keep giving throughout the year. What makes these gifts so special for the recipient is that often these experiences are ones they enjoy but don’t necessarily purchase for themselves. For example, I know that an hour at the spa makes a significant difference in my disposition and often releases the physical symptoms of tension. Finding time to set aside seems impossible, but if given a gift certificate for an hour at my local spa, I know that I would make time to use it.
Experiences can also bring families together in unexpected ways. A weekend staycation or an island escape is possible with LivingSocial. I like perusing their “Escapes” for inspiration for our next adventure. Competitive pricing for luxury resorts and vacations is compelling enough for me to want to book a trip as a Christmas gift to our family.
If you’re struggling to find the perfect gift, you might find that the best gifts in life often can’t be wrapped.
With the help of LivingSocial, I’ve put together 3 experiential gift guides for everyone on your shopping list:

For Kids: It goes without saying that come Christmas morning, kids of all ages will run down to see what gifts Santa has left them under the Christmas tree.
