Rockin’ Back To School With Box Tops

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

In just one year, our lives will be very different. Our son will be entering kindergarten and we’re already mentally preparing ourselves for the change. There will be early mornings, tighter schedules, homework (it starts early these days), and expenses.  But our hope is that once our little boy begins school, he’ll love it which means we’ll love it. We desire to make lasting relationships with other parents and their children, and the teachers who are guiding and making a difference in our children’s lives.

With tighter budgets, schools need our support to ensure our children are getting the best education available. Box Tops for Education is truly an amazing program that, since it’s launch, has helped to raise over $400 million for schools across the US.  What’s wonderful about the program is that you really don’t have to do much to make a difference.  Initiated by General Mills, you can now find and clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of participating products to earn money for your child’s school.

While I was shopping at Walmart last week, I noticed a Box Tops for Education Display, detailing their month-long promotion.   Many products will be worth extra Box Tops (as much as 4) when purchased this month at stores nationwide.  While you might typically associate Box Tops with items like cereals and snacks, there are actually over 30 items available, including Progresso Rich & Hearty Soup – Chicken and Noodle (2), Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers Value Size (4), and Pillsbury Ready to Bake Cookies – Chocolate Chip (4).

So what does the program do or schools? Check out some of the fundraising successes of the program.

North Bay Elementary School was able to purchase new playground equipment

Kuemper Catholic was able to purchase mobile computer labs

Jewett School of the Arts used the funds towards their dance department which included the purchase of costumes

For more information about the program and how you can participate, visit Box Tops for Education.

Disclosure: I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
