I watch very little television and absolutely no daytime television unless I’m sick in bed. Because I’m so busy with family, work, and life, I can’t justify spending an hour or more in front of the television unless I’m multi-tasking. Most daytime television includes over dramatized soap operas, less-than-thrilling game shows, and the local news. But there is a new daytime show people are “talking” about on CBS…
It’s called The Talk and while it’s only been on air for a month, it’s gaining popularity for the diverse range of topics covered, and the celebrity line-up of hosts, which includes Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Each of these women are mothers with children in all age ranges. They approach everything from parenting and relationships to entertainment and controversy through the lens of motherhood. Now that, I can totally relate to.
Tuesday’s show was all about the people who inspire you. I was moved to tears as I listened to Sharon and her daughter Kelly talk about Sharon’s battle with colon cancer and inspired by 14 year old T’Ara’s bravery during her fight against bone cancer. The show was entertaining, authentic, and inspiring.
After the show, the hosts sat down with us to “talk.” Mostly we talked about what we as women want to see and hear on the show. I personally would like the show to focus more on important personal and global issues, like my identity as a woman and a mom or how I can impact the environment. While at times I find celebrity news interesting, I would like The Talk to go deeper than that. Perhaps they could feature a celebrity who overcame a problem women struggle with…or feature a prominent woman who’s making a difference in her community.
The Talk was created by Sara Gilbert and features guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, live remotes from the field and personal home footage shot by the hosts themselves. You can catch The Talk weekdays at 2:00–3:00 PM, ET and 1:00–2:00 PM, PT.
If you live in LA, you could be a guest on the show. You can join the conversation every Tuesday on Twitter by following @thetalk_cbs @MarissaJWinokur @THESaraGilbert @hollyrpeete @LeahRemini @MrsSOsbourne and and #TheTalk .

I watched this show a few times, from my DVR. Getting any type of television during the day is impossible. I love the issues you bring up and hope they decide to dive deeper into them!
