The Spooktacular Night Train on PBS Kids!

Posted by Caryn Bailey 3 Comments

It feels like I’ve been talking about Halloween all month, and alas, it’s here! We have an action-filled weekend, complete with a harvest festival and trick-or-treating at the zoo.  Earlier today, my son’s preschool hosted their annual costume parade.  He was the talk of the school with his adorable Buddy Dinosaur Train Costume!

There are currently two Dinosaur Train Costumes available for purchase:  Buddy and Tiny.  The costumes are authentic and made to resemble the show’s characters.  Buddy comes with a “head” and the costume itself includes a tail.  My son was running around the house in the costume yelling “ROAR”!  You can purchase Dinosaur Train Costumes at Spencers Gifts and independent retailers nationwide for $39.99.

Or…you can try your sewing skills out by making a Dinosaur Train costume.  Jim Henson’s Creature Shop created a Buddy costume that can be made at home.  They even have a “no sew” option (which is what I would be doing!).

Throughout the weekend, PBS Kids will air spooktacular episodes of Dinosaur Train. The show “encourages basic scientific thinking skills as children learn about life science, natural history and paleontology. Buddy (who is an adorable T-Rex) and his adoptive Pteranodon family board the Dinosaur Train for adventures to prehistoric junbles, swamps, volcanoes, and oceans.”  Their latest Halloween-themed episode is titled Night Train where Dad, Buddy, and Tiny take a ride on the Dinosaur Train at night to learn about animals that are active after dark.  We haven’t actually seen the episode yet, but I am going to try to DVR it since we’ll be out most of the weekend.

What are you doing for Halloween this weekend?  Will your child (ren) dress up?

No compensation was received for this post.  A costume was provided from the company.
