Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Adventures *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 134 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winners are Kimberly, Heather R, Jolee, and Melissa C.  Congrats!

When I was a little girl, I owned a scented Strawberry Shortcake doll.  I took that doll everywhere…even to the beach…where she ended up in the ocean.  I was heartbroken…so my mother and I walked and walked and walked that beach….until she washed up on the shore.   She never quite retained her strawberry scent, but to this day, I have a special place in my heart for Strawberry Shortcake.

Did you know that Strawberry Shortcake is celebrating her 30th birthday this year?  Fortunately, she’s still as young and vibrant as she was when I was a little girl. And to celebrate, there are two new DVDs out.

The Glimmerberry Ball Movie is a full-length CGI film which follows Strawberry Shortcake and her friends as they prepare to celebrate winter with a gift exchange and a winter ball.  Strawberry and her friends have a mystery to solve when someone destroys their decorations.  The simple story teaches children about friendship and cooperation.

Berrywood Here We Come follows Strawberry Shortcake and her dessert-named friends as they head to Hollywood Berrywood to help their friend Limelight (ironic, right?) realize that everyone can shine because everyone is a star.  The second episode finds Strawberry and her friends working together to help re-open a local theater by making a movie.  This is how I remember Strawberry…before she got digitized in CGI.  The movie teaches children the importance of thinking about others, helping others, working together and working through problems.  It also features adorable, catchy kid-themed tunes.

Both movies are available now and retail for $14.98.

Win It! I have two copies of each movie to giveaway (4 winners!).  Simply leave me a comment with something you like about Strawberry Shortcake and the movie you prefer if you win. Comments will close on October 21, 2010 at 11:59 PST.  Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.Want an extra entry? My girls love Strawberry Shortcake as well. They collected the series of small dolls when they were part of the Happy Meal. The dolls came with scented lip balm. My girls love those dolls!

My kids used to watch Strawberry Shortcake when they were kittle. We taped a few of the shows that our two little grandbabies watch. I think they would love to watch The Glimmerberry Ball Movie. Looks cute!

I’d rather have the Glimmer Ball, but I wouldn’t mind the other one.

I like that Strawberry Shortcake is something that my kids can watch. The days are gone of safe stuff on TV and this is a safe group of videos.

I like that a lot of the toys smell like Strawberry! I think we’d like the Berrywood Here We Come DVD the most, but we’d enjoy both either way!

I love that Strawberry Shortcake is a timeless classic…I remember watching it as a kid and now my nieces love to watch it also. I would pick The Glimmerberry Ball Movie, but I wouldn’t mind Berrywood Here We Come either. These would be great DVDs that I can watch with my nieces when they come over.
