Stinky Carpets Are So Yesterday

I have yet another confession to make…I absolutely don’t like carpets.  They have this very subtle way of trapping dust and dirt and odors and bacteria.  The only benefit of carpet is it’s ability to pad my son’s landings.  Since we would never be able to redo our floors with hard wood or laminate…our carpet is hear to stay. The challenge we face is keeping it clean and odor-free.

If you have difficulty with unattractive odors in  your home, it may be due to your carpet.  Carpet traps all kinds of odors, including cooking odors.  We recently sampled Carpet Fresh Carpet & Room Odor Eliminator thanks to Mom Central. Here is a little more information about the product from the site:

Carpet Fresh Carpet and Room Odor Eliminator permanently neutralizes carpet odors and helps keep entire rooms smelling fresh by delivering odor-fighting agents deep into carpet fibers and reaching places air fresheners can’t and leaving a long lasting fragrance.

I have to admit that I was a little concerned about how strong this product was going to be because of my allergies (and the fact that I also have a little boy in our house).  Surprisingly, the scent is mild and a little bit of product goes a long way.  I like that the product is in the form of a foam (rather than aerosolized).  It’s very easy to use…simply spray it on your carpet and walk away.  Once the foam “disappears,”  come back and your odors are gone!  Carpet Fresh contains odor-eliminators that go deep into carpet fibers.  The foam dries without a residue (thankfully) and the only way you know it’s there is by the nice scent it leaves.  You know where this would work wonderfully?  In my car! I wonder if some of the “food” odors in my car are due to the carpet?

So you’re probably wondering if it’s safe….me too!  Since the product does not contain the list of ingredients, I checked the site which states that it is safe for animals and humans. If you are senstitive to fragrance you may want to try the Fresh Scent.

A 10.5 ounce bottle of Carpet Fresh retails for $4.49 and can be purchased at retailers nationwide.

Profuse thanks to Mom Central for this review opportunity!
