My first Ghost Town encounter occurred as a child during a school field trip. We sat inside the little red schoolhouse at Knott’s Berry Farm for a lesson in 19th century education and our day at the park was filled with history, culture and a taste of the park’s thrills. With its rich history and unique locale on a former boysenberry farm, Knott’s Berry Farm offers a diverse mix of thrills, family entertainment and educational experiences. And this Summer, the park will delight guests in new ways with their Summer line up of entertainment, the first and only dive coaster in California, and an immersive Ghost Town Alive! experience that places you right in the center of the stories and adventures of Calico.

Summer Entertainment at Knott’s Berry Farm
Knott’s Berry Farm is known for offering families exceptional, engaging entertainment, and this summer’s lineup does not disappoint. In addition to longstanding favorites like Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, Native American Dancer, and Camptivities, Knott’s features 2 new live shows at the park.
- Beach Blanket Beagle (New!): Chill out inside the spacious Charles M. Schulz Theatre as you watch Snoopy and the gang head to the beach! This musical dance party is set to the classic beach comber tunes of the 60’s and 70’s and stars your favorite Beagle! Showtimes through August 19, 2018.
- Calico’s Mountain Jamboree (New!): Knott’s Calico Mine Stage is home to this stunt-filled show, which features a rivalry between the Timber Mountain Loggers and the Calico Miners. The show is set to a lively, familiar soundtrack and is infused with comedy.

- Wild West Stunt Show: Frontier Feats of Wonder! (Wagon Camp Theatre): The newly redone Wagon Camp Theatre debuts it’s signature Wild West Stunt Show complete with displays of old west showmanship and the legendary Colonel R. Hawkins.
- Calico Saloon Show (Calico Saloon): Seek reprieve from the summer sun and enjoy an ice cold sarsaparilla while you tap your feet to the new Calico Saloon Show. The show is lighthearted with laughs suitable for the entire family.
HangTime
My dad was a thrill seeker, and my first introduction to coasters was fast and furious. We started with Montezooma’s Revenge, and only got higher, faster, and more daring over time. This summer, Knott’s introduced HangTime, which features gravity-defying inversions, mid-air suspensions, and twisting dive tracks. The adrenaline rush elicited by the ride is created by the illusion of a disappearing track. Once riders reach the top of the hill at 15 stories, they will come to a halt, suspended for a few seconds before dropping 96-degrees into the steepest drop in California.
Ghost Town Alive!
Walter Knott’s affinity for American pioneer history inspired the construction of a replica Ghost Town on the former berry farm. This year marks the 77th anniversary of Ghost Town, and in honor of this momentous occasion, Calico is opening its doors and inviting guests inside for exciting new adventures and engaging stories. Here are some of the highlights and 10 new interactive experiences in Ghost Town.
- Vote for the Mayor in the town election
- Become an official citizen of Calico
- Send/receive a telegram at the Post Office
- Meet the prospector and his burro, Brutus
Wait not those bandits!
- Lock up bandits in the town patty wagon
- Don a mustache at the Barbershop
- Try your luck at a game of cards with the Sheriff
- Draw up hand-made Wanted posters
- Design a dress
- Interact with the horses at the Livery Stable
