In the spirit of Halloween, The Disneyland Resort has undergone a spooktacular transformation complete with a Halloween Carnival at Big Thunder Ranch, a Pumpkin Festival on Main Street, U.S.A., a colorful display of flours and skeletons in Frontierland in honor of Dia de los Muertos, and festive fall decor accents sprinkled throughout the park. Our family loves the resort during this time of year, particularly because Halloween Time begins a season of Holiday Celebrations.
People are always surprised when I describe the expansive selection of foods available at the resort. One of my favorite dishes, unbeknownst to many, is the Chef’s Vegan Burger at The Carnation Cafe. Throughout the resort, guests can enjoy everything from the iconic Corn Dog on Main Street, U.S.A to Sesame-Soy-Glazed Skuna Bay Salmon at Carthay Circle Restaurant. The resort features an expansive selection of foods (including dishes that accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions) and 8 of the restaurants have won awards for their fresh, inspired dishes.
Throughout the season, you’ll find an array of Halloween and Fall-themed eats and treats at the Disneyland Resort. Here is a guide to those treats you won’t want to miss during Halloween Time:
Pumpkin Twist: One of our favorite new-ish treats at the resort are the sweet and savory twists available at Maurice’s Treats in Fantasy Faire at Disneyland Park. Just in time for Halloween, the resort debuted their pumpkin-inspired take on this sweet treat featuring a spicy pumpkin puree wrapped in a buttery puffed pastry. Pumpkin Twists will only be available for a limited time so be sure to pick one up at Maurice’s Treats (Disneyland Park) or Cozy Cones (Disney California Adventure Park).
Pumpkin Cheesecake: In the spirit of all-things pumpkin, the resort took two of my favorite dishes and combined them into a creamy dessert surrounded by a graham cracker crust and topped with a drizzle of chocolate. Available at Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe and French Market (Disneyland) and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta (Disney California Adventure Park).
Pumpkin Sourdough Bread: If you’re looking to host a Halloween-themed party or gathering, pick up a Pumpkin-shaped Sourdough Bread loaf from Boudin Bakery. Available at Pacific Wharf Cafe, the Disney California Adventure Bread Cart, Mortimer’s Market, and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at Disney California Adventure Park.
Anti-Vampire Garlic Chicken Flatbread: Featuring roasted garlic sauce, marinated chicken, smoked gouda, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and a tomato Harissa sauce drizzle, this hearty flatbread is bursting with flavor. Available at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta (Disney California Adventure Park)
“Muenster” Chicken Sausage Sandwich: If you love the taste of sausage but prefer a healthier substitute, try this sandwich made with chicken sausage and topped on a baguette with onions, red bell peppers, mushrooms, Muenster cheese and served with purple potatoes. Available at Carnation Cafe (Disneyland Park).
Zero Premium Popcorn Bucket: This is one of 4 special edition collectors popcorn buckets being offered at the resort this year. This particular bucket mimic’s Zero’s doghouse and can be used for storing treats once you’ve enjoyed the popcorn. Available at New Orleans Popcorn Cart (Disneyland Park).
Candy Apples: We’re in the midst of apple season, so why not enjoy one of the resort’s Gourmet Candy Apples. New varieties this year include the Candy Corn Apple, the Dirt and Worms Apple and the Minnie Witch Apple.
Cupcakes: Cupcakes are probably one of my favorite desserts, and this year, the Disneyland Resort does not disappoint when it comes to both the design and flavors used to create these cupcakes. The elaborate Ursula Cupcake is a chocolate cupcake dipped in ganache with white chocolate mousse tentacles topped with chocolate crunchy candy and a chocolate edible Ursula image. Available at Pacific Wharf Cafe and Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical Cafe (Disney California Adventure Park).
Maleficent Dragon Sipper: Show your villainous side with this cup that can then be used as a decor item in your home. Available at Ship to Store, Mint Julep Bar, New Orleans Square Lemonade Cart & Royal Street Veranda (Disneyland Park) and Award Wieners (Disney California Adventure Park).
Tropical Habanero Punch: This festive drink is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors. Sprite and Tropical Habanero Lime flavoring are combined and the drink is then garnished with cherries and mint. Available at Royal Street Veranda (Disneyland Park)
