This is part of a compensated campaign with Verizon FiOS Southern California.
The box office reports are out, and as predicted, Iron Man 3 opened strong! Surpassed only by Marvel’s The Avengers, Iron Man 3 broke records and now holds the number 2 spot for films with the highest grossing opening.
The third installment in the series is an exciting, action-filled superhero film where Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) finds himself pitted against a fearless, heartless enemy intent on destroying him and the world around him. Through his journey to protect those he loves and ascertain who is behind the globe’s terrorist attacks, Stark finally comes to terms with a question that has haunted him for years… “Does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?”
The film is exhilarating, filled with suspense, action and thrills. Audiences might be surprised at the humor and heart that also weaves its way into the storyline.
Before Iron Man 3 opened last Friday, Orange County locals were given the opportunity to screen the film courtesy of Verizon FiOS at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach, California. The brand is a major partner on the film (you’ll see FiOS featured towards the end) and has been hosting events, promotions, and contests in support of Iron Man 3.
During the pre-premiere screening event, Verizon FiOS offered guests an opportunity to check out FiOS Quantum, the fastest and most reliable internet available today.
All three of their vehicles were present, including their Entertainment Vehicle which offers guests the opportunity to experience the power of Verizon FiOS live. This 1965 Volkswagen van has been modernized and teched-out with FiOS Internet and FiOS TV capability, viewable on 42-inch HDTVs.
The Verizon FiOS SoCal Experience is still cruising throughout Southern California. Here is a look at where you’ll find the vehicles:
Annual Duck-A-Thon: On May 18th and 19th, Verizon FiOS will be on hand to offer a look inside their vehicles and an opportunity to win a beach cruiser or skateboard based on your original design. The fundraiser, which is now in its 21st year, features sand, sun, surf, and food and the money raised will help fund AltaMed’s Huntington Beach Community Clinic which sees thousands of uninsured and medically underserved patients every year.
California Strawberry Festival: The festival, which celebrates its 30-year anniversary, will feature live entertainment, contests, more than 250 arts and crafts booths and a host of strawberry-themed activities. Stop by Saturday and Sunday to check out the Verizon FiOS vehicle and enter to win prizes.
In addition to these exciting events, Verizon FiOS is also inspiring change and giving back. The votes are in, and thanks to the votes of those in the community, the Guide Dogs of the Desert Puppy Development Center, Club Tech at the Boys & Girls club of The Victor Valley and A Brush with Kindness will receive grants.
