We're about a week from Valentine's Day! Do you know how you'll celebrate that loved one in your life? I love getting flowers and candy, but I tend to be very practical when it comes to gifts I'd like to receive. I tend to opt for gifts with lasting value if I'm asked for suggestions.
If you're still in search for the perfect gift this month, why not get that... Read More »

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Katharine Davis. Congrats!
As in previous years, tech gifts are topping the list of most popular items to buy for loved ones this year. And these days, tech gifts are no longer reserved for "men" per se, since there are a wide variety of female and kid-focused products on the market.
As a mom and a... Read More »

In our highly technical world of email exchanges, text messages, Skype, and various social media channels, I still prefer the traditional phone conversation in most instances. I could spend hours talking to friends and family members and find it to be the most personable way to interact. At this stage of my life, I don't have endless hours to talk to friends and fam... Last night, I met with a group of bloggers to discuss some of the trends we'll see this holiday shopping season. We agreed that tech gifts are definitely going to be topping shopping lists, much like they do each year. Since smartphones are increasingly becoming popular, Energizer introduced the Inductive Charger, which utilizes Qi technology to charge a smartphone wi... Read More »

Thank you to Fooz Kids for providing me with an All-In-One pack to review. The opinions I've expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.
When I was a child, the internet didn't exist. At least it didn't in my home. We didn't even own a computer until I was in high school, something that would shock most parents and children in today's so... Read More »

On any given day, I'm juggling schedules and multi-tasking...trying to stay organized so that I don't miss a school activity, a doctor appointment or a conference call. Technology is such that I can take a picture of my son, capture my daughter on video, record an interview, coordinate schedules with my husband, check my email, receive turn-by-turn navigational dire... For months years I had been asking begging the hubby for an iPhone. Every time I was in a circle of influential women, I'd be the odd one out, tweeting and updating from my Palm Pre Plus. As a side note, I actually really liked that phone. But it wasn't an iPhone. I saw many of my friends go through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of the phone. I remember sittin... Read More »

Over the last year or so, my husband's techie side has seriously rubbed off on me. This year, I've added an e-reader and a smart phone to the list of devices I can no longer function without. And don't forget the laptop that accompanies most of my road and air trips.
With Samsung's new Galaxy Tab, I can practically leave the laptop at home! New from Verizon W... Read More »

My husband's techie side has officially rubbed off on me! This year, I've managed to purchase a DSLR, a Blu-ray player, as well as add to my collection of video games. I also have my eye on a certain tablet computer. Because we travel so much, it makes sense to use air and drive time to catch up on reading.
While I'm super late jumping on the e-reading train,... Read More »

In California, it is illegal to drive and talk on a mobile phone without a hands-free headset (just ask my husband). But more than that, distracted drivers are unsafe. I'm actually good about not talking and driving. When I do talk, I use the speakerphone so I'm still hands-free. The idea situation would be to use a hands-free headset.
Last month, Motorola ... Read More »

Last night I had the privilege of attending the World Premiere of Kinect for Xbox 360 (formerly titled Project Natal). Cirque du Soleil created a performance, specifically for Kinect, which will air on Tuesday, June 15, at 3:30 pm ET on MTV and at 9:00 pm ET on Nick at Nite, mtvU, MTV Hits, and Logo. The event was technology-free, so I don't have pictures or vid... Read More »

From about the age of 7 or 8, I started wearing glasses. I am nearsighted (which means I have difficulty with distance vision). I wear contacts, so most people don't even know this. But, with all of the reading, typing, texting, television viewing, and charting (electronic medical records at work) I do, I'm obviously concerned about protecting and preserving my ... Read More »

As a busy mom of two, running a household and working part-time as a nurse, I rely heavily on my mobile phone. I use it to keep schedules straight, manage lists, navigate my way around town, and stay connected. With all of that use, I never make it through the day without having to charge my battery.
Several weeks ago, I received a fabulous device called the Ch... Read More »

I have to admit that before I met my husband, I didn't have a great interest in gadgets or electronics. If I could plug it in and it worked without having to read a manual, I was good to go! And then I met my husband...who gives definition to the word "techie." I remember when we finally retired my laptop and exchanged it for a MacBook. Initially, I was so frustra... Read More »
